Calling all young writers! Join dlr Writer in Residence, Sarah Webb for a special writing workshop. What does Dún Laoghaire Harbour mean to you? Sunday strolls on the pier? Walking the dog? Teddy’s ice cream? Sailing boats? Chasing the seagulls?
The children will think about using their senses to make their writing come alive and will each write a poem or short piece celebrating this remarkable landmark.
Sarah Webb is an award winning champion of children’s books and writer. She is currently the dlr Writer in Residence. Her latest book is The Songbird Girls: Aurora and the Popcorn Dolphin. Her children’s poetry and rhyme collection, A Sailor Went to Sea, Sea, Sea (with Steve McCarthy) will be published in September. She is a big fan of Dun Laoghaire Harbour and walks on the West Pier several times a week with her dog, Lucky.
